I started this blog for several reasons.
- My journal had long been abandoned and I liked the idea of having a creative outlet that included writing.
- I felt like I had something to say. (Potential blog posts swirling in my head related to "food, travel, books, customer service mishaps, and opinions on the widespread lack of hospitality and manners in American culture.")
- It seemed like a good way to communicate with friends/family in far off places.
These days, what has been swirling in my head is that I don't have much to say in blog form, creative outlets are flowing in other directions, and most (not all) family and friends who read my blog are not interested online conversations over blogs...so it seems like a one-way line of communication.
Which means blogging has become just one more thing on my to-do list, instead of an enjoyable hobby.
A friend wrote on his blog, "Sometimes it seems that blogging is nothing but one big project in narcissism, especially when your readers are not given to commenting much."
This is especially true when one doesn't have anything new to say. And that is where I am right now. Without any topics swirling in my head, I fear this blog could become nothing more than disjointed thoughts interpreted as narcissitic updates.
So, without further ado, let me say thanks so much for your interest and encouragement over the last 10 months or so of blogging. I sincerely appreciate that there were folks out there interested in ramblings from a "slightly frustrated perfectionist."
I'm signing off for now. Maybe if I have something to say I'll be back one of these days. But maybe not.
My best to you. I look forward to keeping in touch the old-fashioned way! :)
p.s. In case you were wondering...The Review Lady will live on if you are looking for food, travel, and recipe reviews.
Update: I have hidden all previous posts since they had personal information and I wasn't sure if I wanted them floating in cyberspace indefinitely. Also removed all other page elements/links to blogs. If I come back, they'll be back too!
